Our programs
At Uniting Hope, our programs exist to surround foster families, biological families, and children with practical care, ongoing guidance, and the love of Jesus. Every program is designed to strengthen homes, build community, and support families on their journey — from the initial call to foster through everyday life with children from hard places.

Personalized care for children and foster families
Case management
At the time of placement, a Uniting Hope Case Manager will be assigned to the foster child placed in your home. They will be available and attentive to both the foster child’s needs and the foster family’s needs. They also work with the biological family of the foster child to build bridges for everyone to work together for the best interest of the child.
Our team is made up of women who not only love what they do but are also diligent, intentional and have hearts to serve.
At the very least, your case manager will come to your house one time per month. They are in charge of the overall wellbeing of the child placed with you. They attend every court hearing, celebrate birthdays, manage appointments, and so much more. They do all of that but most often they become a part of your family.

Providing licensing training for foster families
Pre-licensure training (NTDC)
Before a home becomes licensed, families participate in NTDC (National Training and Development Curriculum), Georgia’s required pre-service training for foster and respite parents.
NTDC is built on:
- Research-based best practices
- Insights from social workers, therapists, and child welfare experts
- The lived experiences of foster and adoptive families
- Feedback from former foster youth
Our team helps you register for classes and guides you through the entire process so you feel informed, equipped, and confident as you move toward licensing.
Equipping foster families to care for children
Ongoing foster training
Caring for children who have experienced trauma requires compassion, creativity, and ongoing learning. Our training program provides the tools and resources foster parents need to feel confident and supported.
Every foster and respite parent completes:
- 15 hours of continuing education each calendar year
- Trauma-informed training opportunities offered throughout the year
- Access to high-quality, relevant training resources and events
Helping families stay supported, informed, and in good standing
Compliance
Foster homes must meet specific state guidelines, but staying on top of paperwork and requirements shouldn’t feel overwhelming. Our compliance program exists to make this process smooth, clear, and manageable.
We provide:
Regular reminders and updates
Assistance gathering required documents
Step-by-step support during relicensing
Continuing education opportunities and guidance
Support, friendship, and rest for foster moms
Foster mom support group
Foster moms pour out so much and they need community just as much as the children they serve. Our foster mom program creates space for connection, rest, and encouragement.
Throughout the year, we host:
- Support groups
- Specialized events like retreats, dinners, and workshops
- Opportunities to build lasting relationships with other foster moms
It’s a place where moms can exhale, be understood, and walk with others who truly “get it.”
Community and support for foster dads
Foster dad support group
Foster dads play a powerful role. Our foster dad program provides connection, encouragement, and fellowship through:
- Regular support gatherings
- Training opportunities built specifically for dads
- Foster dad breakfast & retreat day
- Fun events like breakfasts, axe throwing, and more
These moments give dads a place to grow together, share honestly, and strengthen the unique way they lead their families.
Meeting practical needs
Clothes closet
Our clothes closet is a blessing to families, especially during emergency placements or transitions. We provide free access to:
- Children’s clothing in all sizes
- Diapers and baby supplies
- Toys, books, and school supplies
- Cribs, furniture, and essential items
This ministry helps families meet immediate needs quickly so they can focus on providing comfort, safety, and stability.
Creating moments of joy, connection, and community
Special events
We host meaningful events throughout the year where families can rest, play, and enjoy time together — from picnics and trainings to seasonal gatherings and special outings.
These events also provide opportunities to:
- Earn continuing education credits
- Connect with biological families in supportive environments
- Strengthen relationships and create positive memories
Every event is designed to build community and reflect the hope-filled heart of our ministry.
