At Uniting Hope, we believe the local church is uniquely positioned to live out this calling. When a church embraces foster care ministry — through prayer, service, hospitality, and practical care — families are strengthened, children experience safety, and communities reflect the hope of Jesus.

Ways your church can partner
with Uniting Hope
Churches of all sizes and backgrounds can help care for children and families in foster care. Here are several ways your congregation can get involved:
Spread awareness in your congregation
Invite Uniting Hope to share about foster care during a service, class, or small group. Many families feel called after simply learning about the need.
Pray for foster families, biological families, and children
Prayer is powerful. Churches can adopt specific prayer needs or host prayer moments for foster families in their community.
Create a care team to support foster families
A small team from your church can provide meals, childcare support, encouragement, and practical help to families who are fostering. This ministry helps families thrive, not just survive.
Host a drive or collection
Your church can collect diapers, clothing, gift cards, or essential items to support our Clothes Closet and emergency placement needs.
Serve at family events
Church volunteer teams can help with hospitality, setup, childcare, or activity stations during our gatherings throughout the year.
Give financially
Your church can partner with Uniting Hope through financial giving to help sustain training, support ministries, and resources for families.
